The Lost and Found project transforms discarded candle wax from Malmö restaurants into unique aluminum objects through traditional hand-dipping and lost-wax casting. The slow, collaborative process between designer and material creates fluid forms that capture the ephemeral in permanent metal. Each piece represents a poetic dialogue between waste and value, temporary and eternal—turning forgotten remnants into lasting objects that celebrate the beauty of transformation and circularity.

Stina Henriksson is an industrial designer based in Malmö, Sweden. Her Lost and Found project transforms discarded candle wax into permanent aluminum objects. Stina collects wax remnants from Malmö restaurants and hand-dips them into new forms using traditional candle-making techniques. Each wax form is then cast in aluminum using the lost wax method—the mold is destroyed, the metal remains. The result: unique objects that capture something ephemeral in permanent form.
